Falooda Recipe – Falooda Ice Cream

Falooda is a traditional Indian dessert made from layers of ice cream, milk, rose syrup, and vermicelli. Today, try this tropical twist mango falooda with a mango smoothie, ice cream, vermicelli, fresh mango, and rose syrup.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Rose syrup
  • 2 tbsp Basil seeds Takmaria or Chia seeds (soaked in 1 cup water until bloomed)
  • 2 cup Falooda noodles glass or rice vermicelli
  • 2 scoops Vanilla Ice cream
  • ¼ cup Chopped nuts cashews, pistachios, almonds
  • 1 cup Jello Strawberry or lemon (optional)

Instructions

  • Basil – In a bowl, soak basil seeds or chia seeds in water for 30 to 40 minutes until bloomed. Drain and set aside
    2 tbsp Basil seeds
  • Noodles – Cook the glass noodles in water until soft – drain and set aside.
    2 cup Falooda noodles
  • Smoothie – In a blender add the mango pulp, yogurt, sugar, and milk. Blend until smooth.
  • Assemble
    – In a tall glass 2 tbsp of jello (optional)
    – then add 2 tbsp of rose syrup
    – Top that with 2 tbsp of prepared basil seeds
    – Add 1/4 cup of cooked falooda noodles/vermicelli
    – Gradually pour the milk making sure not to disturb the rose syrup layer.
    – Finally, add 1 scoop of ice cream
    – Top with a generous garnish of chopped nuts
    Serve immediately.
    Pro tip – kids love jello so I used two types of jello in mine as you can see in my pictures
