East Indian Bottle Masala Recipe

My name is Veena, I was born and raised in Bombay as an East Indian, which is a local native community with their own unique cuisine. And while the recipes are Indian they have an ethnic authenticity that's unique to that region.

For example, most recipes use a spice mix called bottle masala, which as an Indian curry powder is a unique blend of more than 18 different spices.
In fact, every family has its own variation of the recipes. And these are mine, handed down from my mother and sister.

My goal is to document my collection of recipes so that they will not be forgotten and lost by our new generations. And my own kids and their families, as well as anyone else who desire these unique recipes, will be able to use them and keep our rich culture and traditions alive. Read More…
